My name is Xiaowei Wang, and I’m currently a product designer on the OneDrive team. Lately, I’ve been focusing on design challenges related to user perception and usage habits for PDF Copilot features. AI capabilities are evolving very quickly, which also brings a lot of challenges for designers in terms of how users understand and apply these technologies. I find this really fascinating!
Although I’m not a “traditionally trained” designer, I’ve always enjoyed the sense of challenge that design brings. Whether it’s a tool product like OneDrive or a more visual and exploratory direction like MetaSubway, I can adapt quickly and deliver high-quality results.
I love exploring new things and enjoy researching. With a bit of a technical background, I’m able to naturally balance feasibility, aesthetics, and user experience in my design process. I also often bring fresh perspectives to product teams!
Why Design?
My path to design began with my undergraduate studies in Computer Science and Technology, where I discovered my deep interest in understanding and solving complex problems. This insight inspired me to investigate the ways in which technology might improve user experiences, affect human behavior, and solve problems in addition to solving them. My desire to make a difference and bring about change inspired me to pursue a career in design.

Aside from work, I love exploring music, photography, fashion, podcast, drinking and work-out. And traveling whenever I have an opportunity! I love making new friends, always marveling at beauty, and building up my personal collection (I'm a huge fan of vintage products).
